CANON PERSONALITY: Like all the other Pokemon Professors in the series, Augustine Sycamore is a helpful and kind professor who helps out beginning trainers by giving out advice and the tools they needed for their Pokemon journey as part of his job. Not only that, he's not afraid to share whatever knowledge he has of his work, especially Mega Evolution as he explains it to Ash and his friends when they first visit his lab. However, he can be defensive against any Mega Evolution research being used for evil and has he refused to hand over his research data to criminals like Team Rocket.
As with any Pokemon Professors, Sycamore is very caring to any Pokemon he meets and will help them out without any hesitation. He also acts protective of them whenever criminals tried to steal them, as well as helps out whenever a Pokemon is in danger. This side of him shows when he offered to join Serena and Mairin on saving the latter's Chespin from Lysandre Labs. In addition, he also cares very much about his loyal Garchomp, whom he has taken care of since she was an aggressive Gible, so if anything happens to Garchomp, he will not hesitate to step in and save her.
Along with his caring nature to Pokemon, Sycamore is a friendly person to trainers everywhere, especially to newcomers like Serena. He's also very sociable and helpful, and often aids others whenever needed, especially in dire situations such as aiding Ash and his friends during the Team Flare incident as well helping out with the recovery and restoration after that. If he sees somebody in danger, he is willing to sacrifice anything like his research just to keep them safe.
He's also calm, yet determined when it comes to completing a task, especially if it can improve a (possible) Pokemon and trainer's relationship. He's also unfazed by any pain he feels whenever he tries to befriend a Pokemon or focused on any given situation. But despite this and his friendly nature, he can be prone to anger and aim for payback whenever someone hurts his friends such as with Team Rocket after he managed to Mega Evolved his Garchomp for the first time, and where he protected Mairin from a Team Flare Grunt from kidnapping her.
He's not the type to stay and work in his lab all day as he tends to watch some Pokemon Showcases in his TV, namely during Serena's Showcases, as well going out for field research on Mega Evolution. Sycamore is also a fan of new innovations and gadgets, as he is prone to ignoring any current situation with Team Rocket to admire their latest mecha alongside Clemont. He seems to have a habit to shouting out "Marvelous!" whenever he's happy and witnessed something extraordinary.
In short, he's a nice and friendly researcher and person who is willing to help his friends and trainers alike. But try to put anyone he cares about in danger and you will be sorry once you face the wrath of him and his loyal Mega Garchomp.

AU PERSONALITY:
caelestialis to include her in his AU history.- Augustine was born to an upper-class family in Recolle where his father worked as a businessman and his mother as a lawyer in Enprise. Despite having a wealthy family, he preferred to live in a normal childhood as well attend a normal school in Recolle Elementary.
- As for his family, his parents didn't spoil him like a typical rich kid, while his older brother often helped him out in his studies. However, he tended to become conflicted regarding his own future due to his parents' expectations of him, but his brother often encouraged him to find his own path. Because of his family, he got along with his schoolmates.
- Most of his middle school years were uneventful, however, he often broke up many fights due to his kind personality.
- During his high school years, he took a part-time job in Recolle Zoo per his brother's suggestion, who also worked there as part of his major to become a veterinarian and as he worked there as a zookeeper's assistant. His experience during his part-time work and his brother's influence led his decision to become a college professor of animal biology.
- His parents supported his decision when he declared this after graduation and suggested he try pursuing his studies in Paris at the same university where they met each other to help him achieve his dream with some help from his aunt, who gave him a scholarship as a birthday gift.
- At the age of 20, he studied at a university in Paris and learned about the culture, and made some new friends during his stay.
- Once he obtained a bachelor's degree in education and animal biology at the age of 25, he moved back to Recolle to take an internship in Recolle University under Professor [REDACTED].
- During a university event when he's 27, Augustine met Ainsley while he was helping his mentor on preparing his lecture, and they eventually became friends. She later helped him out during his first days as a college professor.
- As the game starts, Augustine has recently become a college professor of animal biology and despite he's only been a professor for a few months and the lack of experience in teaching, he is regardless happy for making it this far while hoping his brother will be happy that he finally found his own path.
AU PERSONALITY:
- Despite being born in a different world, Augustine retains his friendly and kind personality, and always helps out his students who are in need, as well as his friends and family.
- One difference between him and his previous life is that he is a bachelor and often flirts with some ladies he's interested sometimes. However, he tones it down while doing his job or meeting up with his friends.
- Just like his pre-reincarnation, he has a great care for animals and tends to help them out whenever they are hurt or befriend them.
- He also tends to act as a mediator to any arguments due to his earlier experiences during high school and his internship. While it very often tires him out, he will not ignore any kinds of fights he sees and will try to pacify both parties.
- Due to being a recent hire as a college professor, he's not well-experienced when it comes to giving out advice to students, unlike his canon. But he is willing to try for the student's sake.
- Being a nice person, he hates hurting anyone's feelings, and he often tries to keep his negative comments to himself whenever he finds something uncomfortable for him.
- Due to him living in France for a few years, he can speak both fluent English and French.
