[Shark-monster was not currently trying to eat her! Lucy was still going to be wary. And behind the couch.]

She's a giant...shark thing, what else does she need?!

[Even right now, the...creature commanded the same respect as any large and most likely predatory animal like a bear or a lion did just by existing.

Did it also breathe fire?]

From what I know so far, her claws seems to cut through wood. Not sure about the concrete, though.

But I know she won't hurt a fly.

[Lucy found the latter hard to believe. Sure, she seemed tame enough. Right now. Lucy still wasn't coming out from behind this couch even though it was kind of uncomfortable to stand this close to it.]

[Seeing how she is still scared of her, Modeste tries to approach her, but Augustine stops her with a nod.]

Hold on, Modeste. Let's just give her some space for her to adapt your presence.

[Besides, if she gets too direct on the stranger, she might fear her instead.]

So back to my memory, I can't really explain how I transform Modeste, but it has something to do with something that my other self was holding.

Well, from what I can see from that memory, he's holding some kind of gem. I can't see it what kind, though, since he is covering it with his fist.

[His answer, if anything, makes Lucy grumpier.]

Why does everyone else remember things like that?

Well, I'm still deciphering about that memory for now. But I know it is theorized that it came from my previous self.

Namely, my other self from another world or so...

[Although this makes him wonder if she has any hallucinomemories that she recently received.]

[Lucy snaps, demeanor changing from cautious to cantankerous.]

No, that everyone gets to remember cool things because they used to be superheroes.

[Her mouth starts running ahead of her brain now that she's gotten going.]

No one remembers how they just shot someone except me—

[And her teeth finally click shut as she realizes what she was saying. Lucy glanced away, but the words hung in the air like a physical barrier.]

[It was one thing to blurt out that she remembered shooting someone. It was another to feel that admission was ignored, or not obvious enough, and her mind churned itself into conflicting thoughts all on its own.]

[That outburst is enough to realize what she meant. In fact, he is surprised at the memory she mentioned.]
