Togusa stops and looks down. "That's something I hadn't thought about. I can't- bank on it. But it's a possibility. I don't know how much I want the other version of him to be like me. But it's a comforting thought." Is it one Togusa can let himself have in the fact of mounting evidence to the contrary? Time will have to tell.
"What about you? You okay with seeing-" he waves a hand at the computer, "this? Some sort of adventurer, cataloguer, maybe? Of these...really fantastic creatures?" In a way, what Augustine is seeing is easier to swallow than what Togusa is. Even though Augustine's memories seem far less tethered to this version of reality. It's a tempting life to believe in.
"Not too far off from reality, then?" Togusa actually smiles at the idea. "If more creatures start showing up around here, I guess I know who to go to. And, if any more get delivered to you, I think I'd like to see them."
"Now that I know they're not really dangerous, hunh?" Maybe it wasn't too out of the realm of possibility to worry they were dangerous, but now that he knows what the Professor does? It seems like such a foolish thought.
Well, if I do have more information about Modeste and the creatures so far, I'll be sure to let you know as well.
[He then gives a small smile to this as he wonders about the creatures he saw from his memories.]
I've been wondering, I studied in animal biology just to become a college professor and teach everyone about it. All because of my love of animals. Yet, I've been getting visions of strange creatures that are supposed to be fictional.
"But you can probably figure out a few things about them, even before your memories fill in the gaps? There's still some similarities to 'normal' creatures," even puts up the air quotes, "even Modeste, who's the farthest off from what we've seen."
"Still getting to use your training, just in a more fantastic way. What do you think? Start teaching people about chocobos and everything else that shows up in this world as it pops up?"
Depends... Maybe other than teaching about those fantastical creatures, I might try researching them about it. You know, learning about their behavior and their abilities.
[How ironic since he is the college professor of animal biology. He might as well add "fantastical beasts" in his occupation as well.]
Togusa smiles fondly, because now he can see it happening. "It's more about the discovery, the learning something new, that's more of an appeal than just the teaching." He's known a lot of professors like this, so it makes sense.
"I get it," Togusa admits. "And, I'm sorry I didn't before."
Togusa's eyes go wide, "Shit," it just slips out before he can stop himself. "I didn't even notice it was missing..."
Togusa takes the gun, cautiously gripping the cylinder, and the instant of contact between the two of them sparks something. "Hkng-" A feeling of heat across his chest, the scar settling back into place.
But. There is a matching feeling of warmth across the back of his shoulder blade. What?
He looks down at the gun. He can remember it, firing not just any gun, but this gun. Practicing, at the range, like he has for the past year. But the memory shows far more skill than he knows he is capable of.
"What-" The look on Togusa's face mirrors Augustine's. "What just happened there?"
[When he hears Togusa's voice, Augustine quickly snaps out of the trance as he sees what he is trying to ask him. Knowing what he means, he quickly raises his shirt a little to check his chest, which reveals that the gunshot wound is gone. This makes him sigh in relief.]
I guess we're back to normal then. But regarding my memories, I did see the mentioned monsters you've mentioned, along with one more detail and another memory.
Togusa gives a small smile. "Told ya, it's like something out of a kaiju flick, hunh?"
He is tilting a little to the side, breathing deeper. No, there is definitely something else there, but he won't investigate it now. He has a bad feeling about it anyway. "Feels weird," he says out loud. "Just when I was getting used to it being there."
"No, it's- fine." A little too hesitant. "I think it just feels strange." He takes a very deep breath and lets it out.
"Still no breathing problems," Togusa shakes his head. "Lucian said I was lucky about that." He scratches the back of his head. "Sorry for the scare. I know we didn't pick this, but. Sorry anyway."
"There is that," Togusa can't help but smile. Modeste just needs care, like anybody else. "But what's confusing? Something that doesn't quite fit with everything else you've seen?"
Oh, now that concerned look turns into a more sly smile. "Oh ho. So you were working with more of those creatures, hunh? Exactly what you want to be doing?"
"No?" Hmm. "It wouldn't be another species of those creatures?" He gestures to the pocket where the computer Augustine was holding disappeared to. "A bigger one than the frog or the fox?"
"I'm sure you'll figure out more," Togusa encourages.
"I- should probably get back to it," he checks the time on his phone. "But thank you for taking the time to do this. I wasn't sure what I was expecting, but I suppose this is the best we could have hoped for?"

Re: 7/4 (Togusa)
Somehow, yes. And from most of my strange memories, I seem to be wearing some kind of lab coat. I even have it back at my apartment.

Re: 7/4 (Togusa)
[Knowing Togusa, he feels that Modeste's appearance can be a little suspicious in his eyes during her first impressions on her.]
Oh, right. I supposed I should give this back to you now.
[He then reaches through his back and grabs the revolver before he offers it to Togusa.
But even after he may accept it, Augustine's eyes widen, a sign of another memory flashed in his mind.]

Pokemon... Professor?
Re: 7/4 (Togusa)
"You okay? You-" Togusa holds up a hand to his chest and taps it twice. "Gone?"

[However, he becomes confused at what Togusa just experienced.]
What is it? Is the swap didn't go through as normal?

Re: 7/4 (Togusa)
[However, Augustine's expression turned into confusion as he still wonders something.]
Though I'm still confused at those new memories, especially that small one.
Re: 7/4 (Togusa)
Re: 7/4 (Togusa)
[He then looks down on the ground as he remembers his new vision.]
I remembered that I have a job called a "Pokemon Professor".
Re: 7/4 (Togusa)
Re: 7/4 (Togusa)
I don't know. I just know that I'm a Pokemon Professor, but that's all. I don't even know what "Pokemon" means.
Re: 7/4 (Togusa)
Re: 7/4 (Togusa)
[He then takes out the red device to check on what has been updated.]
Maybe... But for some reason, there is no new information regarding those large creatures I just recently saw.
Re: 7/4 (Togusa)
"Maybe you didn't remember enough," Togusa tries to look over at the machine, too, but he can't tell. "Do you know what they were called?"
Re: 7/4 (Togusa)
[Augustine then tries to remember more about the memory, but he only nods no.]
I don't think so, no.
